

The ETE Vasco Antonio Venchiarutti (ETE means State Technical
School) has the architect Vasco Antonio Venchiarutti as
its patron (in photo). He had a dream to build in Jundiaí
City a school to promote professional education in Civil
Construction. During his mandatory as Jundiaí Mayor,
he instituted the law number 624 of March 15, 1958, that
created the Technical School of Civil Construction. After
that, he made a partnership with Federal Union (MEC, Educational
Ministery), São Paulo State Government and Jundiaí
City Government that allowed building the school.
At that time, Storani family donated an area of 200,000
m2 near to 2° G.O. 155 (2th General Quarter of Brazilian
Army), that was part of Nossa Senhora do Desterro Farm.
The Storani wanted that area was used as the campus of
future school. In 1961 January, under Dr. Omair Zomignani
Mayor´s mandatory, the fundamental stone was placed
in that local.
A Coordinate Committee of Construction was established
then and an executive group was assignment to provide
all documentations to approval the school in Secretaria
da Educação (Educational Bureau) and Ministério
de Educação e Cultura (Educational and Culture
Ministery). The executive group last meeting was in 1964
of July 2nd at school, which already built in that time.
In 1965 February, the Regime Interno do Conselho Técnico
(The Internal Regiment of Technical Council) was approved
and managed the school until 1978.
The first Principal was the Professor João Augusto
Oliveira. He started work in 1965 February 2nd. Under
his mandatory, the school was officially opened in 1966
March 15 with inaugural classes of two courses: Agrimensura
( Surveying) and Edificações (Buildings).
In that fresh start, there were 32 students. But a few
years later, several changes occurred. The school received
a new name, more students arrived and more courses were
founded.
Named then Colégio Técnico de Jundiaí
(Technical High School of Jundiaí), the numbers
of students increased reaching the peak of 1,700 students
in 1974 (this peak was repeated in 1992). By the Law Decree
3783 of 1983, the denomination of school became ETE Vasco
Antonio Venchiarutti (ETEVAV as it is mostly referred)
in reverence to the architect who fought for its foundation.
Trough the years of its history, the school had different
Principals in order: José Vitório Sacilotto,
Benedito Marchi, Fernando Pereira da Costa, Orlando Ramires,
Regina Judith Mancin, Isa Maria Borrego Lorena and Mauro
Araújo Gut (presently).
Nowadays the ETEVAV sheltered 1,562 students in the day
and the night periods, divided amongst in the following
courses: Ensino Médio (Middle Education), Meio
Ambiente (Environment), Saneamento (Sanitation), Segurança
do Trabalho (Work Security) and Transporte sobre Pneus
e Trânsito Urbano (Wheels Transportation and Urban
Traffic), this last in agreement with Jundiaí City
Government. The ETE Vasco Antonio Venchiarutti has pride
of promote higher technical education and to form qualified
professionals.
